Independence Day otherwise known as the 4th of July, is a great day for patriots and firework fans. Independence Day is a giant birthday party for the nation to honor the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776. This day includes all kinds of red, white and blue festivities from flag-waving parades to the crackle-and-pop of shimmering colored explosions in the summer night sky. It always seems to take forever for darkness to fall so that the fireworks can begin! Of course, picnics and neighborhood barbecues are also a major part of the grand American tradition. Longstanding favorites include apple pie, corn on the cob, potato salad, hamburgers, and hotdogs fresh from the grill.
